Pretty Boy Floyd Mayweather v DeMarcus Corley

Floyd Mayweather v DeMarcus Corley
“Pretty Boy” Floyd, now 32-0 (21), never looked in trouble against Corley, a former WBO world champion at 140lbs.
Mayweather, a former super-featherweight and lightweight world champion, entered the ring full of confidence and soon went to work against Corley, who struggled to negate Floyd’s speed and accuracy throughout.
The fans at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City were enthralled as Mayweather took the inititative from the outset and showed he could be as effective as a light-welterweight as he had been at lightweight.
Corley, known as “Chop Chop”, had a few moments of success in the fourth round, but otherwise was never at the races as Mayweather showed just why many now regard him as the world’s premier ‘pound-for-pound’ fighter in the wake of Roy Jones’ stunning KO defeat to Antonio Tarver last weekend.
The fight was always interesting as “Pretty Boy” showed his vast array of defensive skills and ring smarts, and Mayweather had the durable Corley down twice en route to a thoroughly deserved points victory.
Scores were 119-107, 119-108, and 118-108 for Mayweather, who again complained of hand trouble after the fight and called out Arturo Gatti in his post-fight interview.
