Vernon Forrest v Sergio Mora

Vernon Forrest outpointed Sergio Mora in their junior middlweight rematch in Las Vegas.

The former had lost his title to the same rival back in June after a moderate display but gained his revenge in an entertaining encounter at the MGM Grand.

Forrest was on top from the outset and controlled the fight as former participant on ‘The Contender’ Mora could never get into the contest.

That was refelected on the scorecards as the judges scored it 119-108, 118-109 and 117-110 at the end of the bout.

“Now you see the difference between a contender and a real champion,” Forrest said.
