Joshua Clottey v Zab Judah

Joshua Clottey v Zab Judah
The showdown at The Palms in Las Vegas ended midway through round nine when Judah suffered a nasty cut over his right eye.
Judah claimed he couldn’t see and the bout was called off due to an accidental headbutt with Clottey ahead 86-85 on two scorecards and 87-84 on the other.
The timing was devastating for Judah, who might have enjoyed his best moments in rounds seven and eight.
Judah weighed in at 143lbs for the showdown, four pounds under the welterweight limit. And that left him at a major disadvantage in terms of size and strength.
Clottey was able to score seemingly at will with right hands, and Judah was bleeding from the nose and mouth by midway through the bout.
Judah (now 36-6), still retaining plenty of ability, did manage to produce some decent combinations and the occasional powerful uppercut.
But he could never hurt Clottey, and the man from Ghana was always in charge.
Clottey (35-2) has now won five straight since losing to Antonio Margarito in 2006.
And he will now be hoping for a rematch with the Mexican, who stunned Miguel Cotto last weekend. Margarito was at ringside for Saturday night’s bout.
